- SCANBASE
- Version 3.1
- (UPGRADE.DOC)
-
-
- This file includes information for anyone upgrading
- from ScanBase versions 1.x, 2.x or 3.0. If you are not
- already using an earlier version of ScanBase you do not
- need to read this file.
-
- Due to changes in the way ScanBase handles files it
- is now recommended that all of the ScanBase files be put
- together in a directory separate from your Windows
- directory. Older versions of ScanBase looked for the
- data files in the Windows directory. Now ScanBase will
- look for the data files in whichever directory contains
- SCANBASE.EXE. VBRUN200.DLL must remain in your Windows
- System directory.
-
-
-
- UPGRADING FROM VERSION 1.x -
-
- The first version of ScanBase used one data file
- called SCANBASE.DAT. Version 3.1 uses two data files.
- SCANBASE.DAT holds the same information as the original
- SCANBASE.DAT. In addition SCANBASE.BNK holds all of the
- bank header information. If you do not want to lose the
- information you entered into ScanBase version 1, you can
- copy the new SCANBASE.EXE along with SCANBASE.BNK to your
- ScanBase directory and keep your old copy of SCANBASE.DAT.
- If you opt to use your old SCANBASE.DAT the bank headings
- won't match, but they are easily edited.
-
-
-
- UPGRADING FROM VERSION 2.x -
-
- Version 3.1 will automatically update the data files
- from version 2.x. If you would like to upgrade to the new
- version without losing the data you have already entered
- just copy the new version of SCANBASE.EXE over the old one.
- Your data files (SCANBASE.DAT and SCANBASE.BNK) will be
- read and updated.
-
-
-
- UPGRADING FROM VERSION 3.0 -
-
- Version 3.1 uses the same data files as version 3.0.
- Just copy SCANBASE.EXE to the directory that holds the
- older version of ScanBase.
-
-
-
-
-
- Thanks to everyone who has registered. Your registration
- number will work with ScanBase version 3.1. You should read
- SCANBASE.DOC to take full advantage of the new features.
